Welcome to Sunland International School!
Sunland International School is an independent co-educational day school serving students aged 3-15 of all nationalities. The academic programme, offered in an Andalusian setting, is based on the National Curriculum for England; Key stages 1- 4, although it incorporates elements of the Spanish national curriculum. The immediate goal is to expand the secondary school with a pre university cycle involving Cambridge international A and AS levels for Years 12 and 13 beginning in September 2008. The school is located on a spacious and secure 40.000 sq. metres campus to the west and north of Malaga which features excellent academic buildings, and sports facilities set in attractive gardens. Sunland International School is a member of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS), and is recognised by the British Council and the Spanish Ministry of Education.
Quality, care and
relevance are at the centre of our educational philosophy. The 21st century
provides us with exciting challenges and opportunities. Our main aim is to
provide child(ren) with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them
not simply to survive, but to excel in the stimulating environment of this
new millennium. All students are encouraged, supported, and guided, so that
they may reach their full potential and leave our community with the confidence
relevant for our modern way of life.
The academic ethos is both challenging and demanding, but also supportive
and friendly. We aim to develop enquiring minds and encourage self-motivation.
The link between school and home is crucial and student advancement is usually
a result of a team effort involving the student, school and parents. To assist
in this process, reports and assessments will be provided at regular intervals
and there is ample opportunity for staff, students and parents to discuss
progress.
Sunland International School is an international community. Each person, student
and teacher, parent and Board member, secretary and support staff is respected
for what she or he brings to the school. The school is a place where people
work hard and become friends.
